Formica pioneered the development of decorative laminates
nearly a century ago, and the process is called high pressure
decorative laminate (HPL) and another process is called
continuous pressure laminate (CPL)
A versatile and simple setting supported by a wide variety
of designs, finishes, profiles and dimensions make these
postformed worktops a suitable solution for kitchens and
indoor decoration.
Laminates come in several different grades. The cheaper
composites use soft particle timber with minimum amount
of adhesive to bond the structure.
The more expensive grades use harder quality timbers i.e.
oak to make up the fine particles bonded with a high residue
of adhesive (bonding agent). Thus making each board stronger
and heavier. |
